Interfaculty Units
The interfaculty units provide training in foreign languages and physical education.

Department of Foreign Languages

Department of Foreign Languages provides foreign language courses - English, German, Russian and French - for the students of all the faculties of the Pedagogical University of Cracow. It also provides courses of Latin at the departments of Polish Philology and English Philology.

During the recruitment process, the candidates are to choose a foreign language which they intend to study. The foreign language courses start at the 2nd semester of the first year of the studies and end after the 5th semester in the third year of the studies at all fields of study, apart from Political Studies, International Relations and Administration, which begin the foreign language courses at the 1st semester of the first year of the studies and finish with an exam after the 4th semester in the second year of the studies. At the extramural studies, the number of hours of a foreign language course depends on the curriculum.

Attending the foreign language courses offered by the Department of Foreign Languages of the Pedagogical University of Cracow enables the students to reach the level of fluency that is in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The students attending the foreign language courses acquire practical language skills as outlined in the original teaching programmes developed by the Department’s Academic Teachers, as well as the decisions made by the established language groups of the Department and the educational standards included in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Department of Physical Education and Sports

Department of Physical Education and Sports organizes compulsory physical activities for all full-time students of the Pedagogical University of Cracow.

The Department offers the following forms of activities:
  • Mandatory activities groups
  • Mandatory activities groups with a possibility of choosing an option (paid and free of charge physical activities)
  • Physical rehabilitation groups
  • Courses in the Theory of Physical Education for the exempted students
  • Physical Training Sessions at the University Section Club of the Academic Sport Association.
